Intergenerational issues between older caregivers and children in the context of AIDS in eastern and southern Africa

Responding to regional recommendations to strengthen families as a unit of care within the context of children affected by HIV and AIDS, RIATT-ESA commissioned a study to better understand intergenerational issues for older carers and children orphaned by AIDS. The study aimed to identify policy gaps, lessons learnt and good practices with regards to support mechanisms for the enhancement of Intergenerational relationships.

The research was carried out by Helpage, through the support of UNICEF and SIDA.
