Joint letter urging the UN to ensure that all Children are counted! — Regional Interagency Task Team on Children Affected by AIDS

Joint letter urging the UN to ensure that all Children are counted!

RIATT-ESA and some of the world’s leading children’s organization are calling on the UN to ensure that children are counted and well represented in the global sustainable development goals.

In a joint open letter to the Inter-Agency Expert Group, children’s NGOs and leading disability-rights organizations, have appealed to the UN to ensure that “children living outside of households and/or without parental care” are included in the monitoring framework.

This Joint letter to the UN Statistical Commission and Inter‐Agency Expert Group on SDG Indicators recommends the following:

  1. Ensure that children living outside of households and/or without parental care are represented in disaggregated data.
  2. Improve and expand data collection methodologies to ensure all children are represented.
